External inguinal ring

This is also known as the superficial inguinal ring (Latin term: anulus inguinalis superficalis). The opening in the inguinal canal on the outside of the abdominal wall above the pubic tubercle, formed by an opening in the tendon of the external oblique abdominal muscle (Latin term: musculus obliquus externus abdominis).
